This mug has been wheel-thrown from stoneware-clay. It was initially fired to approximately 1060 degrees Celsius. Illustrative sketchy hearts were drawn with a black underglaze pencil, a coating of clear glaze was then applied re-fired to approximately 1240 degrees Celsius.
Key qualities
Material: high-fired stoneware for durability and functional use.
Glaze: high shine clear over glaze
Size: extra small. Perfect for espressos. The handle-less design along with the size makes this piece a perfect double-up to be used as a storage pot or decorative use.
Care
Handwashing recommend.
Avoid sudden temperature changes (do not move directly from freezer to hot liquid).
Minor surface variations are inherent to the piece and part of its character.
Finish: commercially available glaze rated by manufacture as food-safe and lead free.
