SPRING CHECKS
This mug has been wheel-thrown from stoneware clay. It was initially fired to approximately 1060 degrees Celsius. A cream speckle glaze with subtle pink checks were hand painted and re-fired to approximately 1240 degrees Celsius.
This mug is for those wanting to bring a playful and contemporary energy. This mug connects interior trends to everyday objects with a spring colour palette.
Key qualities
Material: high-fired stoneware for durability and functional use.
Glaze: reactive glazes that create varied surfaces and intentional bleeding and colour runs. Pastel pink speckle glaze over a reactive cool-toned cream speckle.
Size: small. Perfect for herbal teas and flat whites.
What to expect
Unique patterns of movement and colour; no two mugs are ever identical.
Natural variations such as small run marks, pooled glaze, and slight colour shifts.
A stable, functional vessel suitable for daily use and display.
Care
Handwashing recommend.
Avoid sudden temperature changes (do not move directly from freezer to hot liquid).
Surface variations are inherent to the piece and part of its character.
Each piece is a one-off, created through layered and experimental glaze combinations to achieve unique, unrepeatable finishes. I use commercially available glazes rated as food safe, and lead free. Due to the nature of layering, the finish combination is inherently unique and therefore not individually tested.
