This mug has been wheel-thrown from stoneware-clay. It was initially fired to approximately 1060 degrees Celsius. An illustrative sketch was drawn, then a coating of clear glaze was applied and re-fired to approximately 1240 degrees Celsius.
Key qualities
Material: high-fired stoneware for durability and functional use.
Glaze: illustrative sketch underpinning the basis of my larger sculptural work, with a high gloss finish
Finish: food-safe, lead-free glaze
Care
Handwashing recommend.
Avoid sudden temperature changes (do not move directly from freezer to hot liquid).
Minor surface variations are inherent to the piece and part of its character.
