This mug has been made using a ‘hand pinch’ method with stoneware-clay with a female sketch etched into the inside bottom. It was initially fired to approximately 1060 degrees Celsius. Then a coating of clear glaze and a blue colour was applied and re-fired to approximately 1240 degrees Celsius.
Key qualities
Material: high-fired stoneware for durability and functional use.
Glaze: illustrative sketch underpinning the basis of my larger sculptural work, with a high gloss finish
Finish: food-safe, lead-free glaze
Care
Handwashing recommend.
Avoid sudden temperature changes (do not move directly from freezer to hot liquid).
Minor surface variations are inherent to the piece and part of its character.
